You will be asked to share your ideas and views in the class and work with the group to give and accept feedback in a supportive environment. The WEA tutor will use a range of different teaching and learning methods and encourage you to be actively involved in your learning. You may be asked to undertake work to support your course outside of your class.
By the end of the course I should be able to:
1. Compare a variety of techniques 2. Describe how composition is used in art 3. Select a work to discuss 4. Contribute in group debates 5. Review and discuss artists studied throughout the course
How will I know I'm making progress?
You will feel more confident to give your opinions about a variety of art works, join in discussions and go into galleries. You will also receive regular feedback from the tutor.
What else do I need to know, do or bring?
You do not need to bring anything but it is a good idea to bring a small notebook and pencil. There will be some standing involved as not all the galleries provide chairs and so please bring a light portable stool if standing may be a problem.
