What topics will this course cover

This course will cover simple mechanical techniques of folding and sticking to create successful collapsible sculptures.

What will it be like?

WEA classes are friendly and supportive. You will be encouraged to work together with your fellow students and tutor. You will be asked to share your ideas and views in the class and work with the group to give and accept feedback in a supportive environment. The WEA tutor will use a range of different teaching and learning methods and encourage you to be actively involved in your learning. You may be asked to undertake work to support your course outside of your class.

By the end of the course I should be able to:

1. Use basic techniques to create a pop-up structure 2. Build on basic techniques to extend complexity 3. Use learned techniques to construct an original and complex piece of work

How will I know I'm making progress?

Each session there will be individual consultation and guidance on work in progress. Learners will discuss their learning aims and assessment of their achievement as we go and at the end of the course.

What else do I need to know, do or bring?

White A4 card will be provided. You may wish to bring your own variety of colours or work in a single colour. Your own extra-strong glue stick, a craft knife and a cutting surface such as a piece of thick card will also be useful
