Mixed Textile Crafts
This course will enable you to learn a range of textile crafts including felting and print making. You will take the skills you have learnt and use them to produce a craft item during individual project time.
To learn and explore a range of textile based crafts including, wet and needle felting, print making and hand embroidery.
Who is the course for?
Beginners and more experienced sewers/crafters, different projects are available depending on your prior knowledge.

What will it be like?
WEA classes are friendly and supportive. You will be encouraged to work together with your fellow students and tutor. You will be asked to share your ideas and views in the class and work with the group to give and accept feedback in a supportive environment. The WEA tutor will use a range of different teaching and learning methods and encourage you to be actively involved in your learning. You may be asked to undertake work to support your course outside of your class.
By the end of the course I should be able to:
1. Create Felt 2. Embellish with dry (needle) felting 3. Know a range of hand embroidery stitches 4. Know how to print make using a range of techniques 5. Develop creative skills to make craft items
How will I know I'm making progress?
We will regularly discuss your progress and highlight areas for development and how you can achieve the course aims set out at the beginning of the course. You will receive regular feedback, throughout each session and across the whole course.
What else do I need to know, do or bring?
You will be given a guide on your first session telling what materials you will need to bring each week.
Reading and information sources
Craft books/magazines are available and the internet can be accessed for inspiration and ideas.
What could the course lead to?
Making craft items to sell or to move onto another sewing/craft course in another topic or a higher level.
