Course aim

This course is aimed at expanding the knowledge of the students from the Absolute Beginners IT Course.

Who is the course for?

All students will be refered to the course by Circle Housing.

What topics will this course cover

The course, will look at building eye catching posters for garden parties and fund raisers. Down loading the holiday photos in to folders so that they can be accessed at a later date. Staying safe over the holiday period on line. Keeping up to date with local information and news whilst away. Getting all the on-line documents ready to take in printed format. Emails with and without attachments

What will it be like?

WEA classes are friendly and supportive. You will be encouraged to work together with your fellow students and tutor. You will be asked to share your ideas and views in the class and work with the group to give and accept feedback in a supportive environment. The WEA tutor will use a range of different teaching and learning methods and encourage you to be actively involved in your learning. You may be asked to undertake work to support your course outside of your class.

By the end of the course I should be able to:

1.Create an interesting poster for a fund raiser. 2.Choose photos that you would like to keep and save into a named folder 3.Determine how to stay safe online 4.Select documents from legitimate websites emails with and without attachements

How will I know I'm making progress?

This course is not accredited. Your increased confidence will be demonstrated by progress and your ability to complete tasks and navigate around the computer. There will be plenty of time to discuss progress with the other participants and your tutor. The Learning Record will ask you to comment on how far you feel you have progressed.

What else do I need to know, do or bring?

If you have your own laptop please bring it, otherwise WEA can provide laptops during session times. Note book and pen to make your own notes. No additional expenses for trips and visits.

You should feel more confident to undertake further study, either with the WEA or with another provider.
