The NCFE Level 3 Award in Education is for anyone wanting to teach in the post 16 learning sector. It is an introductory course; offering 12 credits. It prepares students to teach sessions to adult learners. It will be delivered using face to face online sessions and one classroom based session in Bristol where you will deliver your micro-teach.
Course aim
This distance learning course, using face to face online sessions, is for anyone who wants to develop teaching skills and explore the roles and responsibilities of those adult education.
Do I need any particular skills or experience?
By the end of the course I should be able to:
- Identify and explain roles and responsibilities in the post 16 learning environment classroom
- Outline how to provide a safe and supportive learning environment
- Plan and deliver inclusive teaching and learning
- Evaluate your own learning and delivery
- Identify different types of assessment and explain the purpose of these in education and training
What else do I need to know?
- What you need: You will need an internet connection, speakers, a microphone and a webcam so that you can use our video learning platform, Zoom. You could do this using a smart phone, tablet, laptop or a desktop computer (at home or through a library etc.). - You will need a personal email address to join the WEA’s digital learning platform, Canvas so that you can receive resources, record your progress and achievement and to work with others and share ideas.
