The course covers children and young people’s mental health, factors affecting them, their mental health concerns the impact of mental health and how to support them with mental health concerns.
Course aim
This course will increase your knowledge and awareness of children and young people’s mental health and will support progression onto further qualifications and into relevant employment in the health and social care or education sectors
Do I need any particular skills or experience?
By the end of the course I should be able to:
- Understand children and young people’s mental health in context
- Understand the factors which may affect children and young people’s mental health
- Understand children and young people’s mental health concerns
- Understand the impact of children and young people’s mental health concerns
- Understand how to support children and young people with mental health concerns

- You will also need access to the internet outside of your sessions. You could do this using a smart phone, tablet, laptop or a desktop computer (at home or through a library etc.).
