This course will bring together everything you have learned at Entry level, and enable you to write confidently in a wide range of everyday and formal situations. You will consider the use of sentence grammar and punctuation to ensure you communicate effectively and clearly. You will develop your planning skills to help you to write sequentially and coherently, and improve your reviewing skills so you can identify and correct a range of errors in a text.

Course aim
This course will help you to develop your writing skills. It leads to a City & Guilds ESOL Level 1 Writing qualification..
Do I need any particular skills or experience?
By the end of the course I should be able to:
- Use the correct word order for a range of phrasal verbs, with 1 or 2 particles, and with/out objects.
- Use knowledge of prefixes and suffixes to make appropriate word choices (of verbs, adverbs, nouns and adjectives).
- Use an appropriate layout and structure (e.g. paragraphs, headings, bullet points) to write a letter, article or short story, showing a logical order of events or information
- Review a piece of text, making any necessary changes or corrections to errors of spelling, grammar or punctuation.
- Use strategies and prior knowledge to spell the majority of common and unfamiliar words accurately.
