Please enrol on the initial assessment C3748030 or phone 300 3033464 This course is for you if you need to build up your maths skills and confidence before taking an accredited course in functional maths at level 1. In this course you will work on developing and applying your maths skills in contexts such as health, shopping, work and leisure and home and garden. You will develop your skills in using fractions, decimals and percentages, calculating area and volume and working with time.
Course aim
This course will help you to enhance your skills and confidence in maths. You will be able to practise your maths skills through everyday tasks and get ready to progress onto a City & Guilds Level 1 Functional Skills Maths qualification.
Do I need any particular skills or experience?
By the end of the course I should be able to:
- Use positive and negative numbers in calculations
- Find fractions and percentages of whole numbers
- Add subtract multiply and divide decimals up to 2 decimal places
- Calculate perimeter, area and volume of regular shapes
- Calculate using time
What else do I need to know?
- What you need: You will need an internet connection, speakers, a microphone and a webcam so that you can use our video learning platform, Zoom.
