This 2 session course provides an introduction to behaviour strategies for children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities. It looks at the different things that trigger and sustain behaviour and using real life examples and experiences explains different strategies to support communication and positive behaviour. Course aim

For parents and those who support children with SEND, this course provides an insight into what triggers behavioural issues & the strategies that really help. Delivered by an autism mum who is also an Occupational Therapist by training.

Do I need any particular skills or experience?

  • This course is for beginners and improvers

By the end of the course I should be able to:

  • Explain the function, triggers and sustainers of unhelpful behaviour in children with SEND.
  • Use strategies to record and understand the triggers for unhelpful behaviour.
  • Feel competent to identify & use strategies to support understanding and communication with children with SEND.
  • Feel competent to identify & use strategies to foster constructive behaviour in children with SEND.
