This 2 part course looks at understanding ADHD in children better to support them to thrive. We will examine how the ADHD brain works, explore the myths and misconceptions about ADHD and how to harness the strengths of the ADHD brain. We will identify strategies to support effective engagement in activities and positive behaviour for children with ADHD. Within CANVAS learners will be signposted to further digital resources to meet their individual needs beyond the session. A certificate is available on request.

Course aim
For parents, care givers and those who work with children with ADHD, this 2 part course provides a insight into understanding ADHD better & the strategies that can help. Delivered by a former OT who has a son with both autism and ADHD diagnoses.

- I can describe the key challenges that children with ADHD and their parents experience in their daily lives.
- I can explain the key biological differences in the ADHD brain and challenge misconceptions about ADHD.
- I can identify strategies to support a child/ren with ADHD to engage more effectively in activities at home and at school.
- I can identify strategies to help support a child/children with ADHD manage their emotions and maintain positive behaviours.
