Course aim

This participative and friendly course is for adults who are entering the world of work for the first time, returning to work after a break or changing career.

Do I need any particular skills or experience?

  • This course is for beginners and improvers
  • This course is run on Zoom. You do not need to have your own Zoom account, but you will need to follow a link to Zoom and be comfortable doing this. You can do this from a smart phone, but it does work better on a computer, a laptop or an iPad.

By the end of the course I should be able to:

  • Identify your own strengths and areas of improvement and list 3 of your transferable skills
  • Demonstrate increased employment-based vocabulary using CVs, job advertisements and application forms.
  • Demonstrate ability to search online job sites, select an appropriate vacancy and paste it into Canvas.
  • Show listening and comprehension skills by taking in and sharing 3 pieces of information about a classmate.
