Making History - how the past made us

Ref: C3747633

Students may follow their own topics of historical research or work through the suggested ideas. All levels of ability are welcome. We will plan our topics and discuss how we might research them. Research will progress and each week students will feed back to the group about what they have learned. Suggested topics will include local people and their accomplishments - such as John Pounds, national events - such as The Jarrow March and what people like us were doing in the past. We are happy to include any research into minority groups' histories, for example Black history, feminist history, disability history. By the end of the course, you will have found out about how historical events may have shaped our modern world and whether we have learnt anything from them.
