This first aid course will look at various aspects of first aid for adults. We will look at the role of the first aider. We will explore different first aid scenarios such as how to conduct a primary survey on a patient. We will take part in treating someone who is unresponsive; suffering from shock; bleeding; has minor burns; who is choking; has chest pain and someone who has fainted. This course in an introductory first aid course.(This course is for Southampton residents only)
Course aim
This course will cover first aid for adults and will look at the various techniques you can use to help people who have suffered an injury.
Do I need any particular skills or experience?
- This course is for beginners
By the end of the course I should be able to:
- I will be able to place an adult in the recovery position.
- I will be able to help an adult suffering with a nose bleed.
- I will be able to help an adult who is choking.
- I will be able to help an adult with a burn.
- I will be able to perform CPR and use a DIFIB on an adult.
