A general drawing course with live demonstrations and simple exercises . The course will give you an opportunity to experiment with any materials that you have at home : using pens , pencils and scrap paper .Find out how to combine them to the best effect and make drawings from photos or a still life. Suitable for complete beginners and those wanting to improve their confidence .

Course aim

To provide a broad foundation in the basic skills used for drawing in a friendly and supportive atmosphere.

Do I need any particular skills or experience?

  • This course is for beginners and improvers

By the end of the course I should be able to:

  • Use mark making to show texture and pattern
  • Copy dark and light tones
  • Choose the best paper or other support for the materials used
  • Combine materials to enhance your drawing

What else do I need to know?

You will need a selection of writing materials. You don't need to buy anything - use what you have. Copy paper with a mix of pencils, pens and biro, and if you have any: felt tips, crayons or chalk, will be good enough. Details will be on Canvas.
