The first 2 sessions will focus on understanding Autism; the frameworks used to describe and diagnose Autism, the significant impact of sensory issues and strategies to support day to day life from childhood through to adulthood. The final 2 sessions will focus on ADHD, exploring how the ADHD brain works, the myths and misconceptions about ADHD and how to harness the strengths of the ADHD brain. Throughout the course real life examples and experiences are used to explain the strategies to support communication, engagement in activities and positive behaviour. Within CANVAS learners will be signposted to further digital resources to meet their individual needs beyond the session. A certificate is available on request.
