Would you like to share creative skills, build new friendships and connect with your community?: Come to our Quilt of Hope taster session. This 2.5h taster will give you a fun and friendly introduction to handcrafting with textiles, an opportunity to express your hopes for the future through creativity. The taster will lead to a 10-week community project where we will create a beautiful textile wall hanging to display. The Quilt of Hope Taster (and Project) is suitable for Southampton residents from any background, culture and language and welcomes complete beginners as well as those who bring a skill or enthusiasm for crafts such as embroidery, patchwork, quilting, painting, drawing, knitting, crochet, cross-stitch or dressmaking.
Course aim
To express your hopes for the future through creativity, design and conversation. To explore a fun handcrafting technique and learn more about the Quilt of Hope Project.

By the end of the course I should be able to:
- Use a symbol of hope as a basis for a simple design.
- Participate in a small group discussion on the theme of hope.
- Make a simple item using a no-sew technique.
- Understand the Quilt of Hope Project and how to get involved.

All materials will be provided but please feel free to bring anything that could inspire you or others.
