Most anyone who has an interest in art will at least be aware of the big art names; Leonard, Michelangelo, Titian, Raphael, Caravaggio, Rembrandt, Monet, Van Gogh, Gauguin, Pollock are only a sample of the names people will be familiar with, all the subjects of extensive research, books, films, exhibitions, documentaries or TV dramas, along with many other equally famous practitioners. What about the lesser known but equally talented and innovative artists who do not receive the same deluge of analysis, attention and adulation? Was the Renaissance only about Leonardo and Co? Clearly not. During every period there have, in fact, lived numerous esteemed, innovative, successful and much sought after artists, male and female, who today receive little or no attention by comparison. This course will endeavour to redress this imbalance somewhat by featuring an eclectic array of 10 artists, the art they produced, the periods they lived in. Why not join what should be a fascinating art journey?
