Course aim
A friendly and accessible exploration and introduction to five popular cinematic works from the East Asian Regions (China, Japan, Hong Kong and South Korea) - increasing knowledge, understanding and appreciation of film in general.
Do I need any particular skills or experience?
- This course is for beginners and improvers
- Pre-viewing may be useful but not essential.
By the end of the course I should be able to:
- Demonstrate a comprehensive knowledge, fresh appreciation & understanding for East Asian Cinema
- Critically analyse, discuss and comment on East Asian Cinema
- Draw from one's own knowledge and experience in expressing informed opinions when commenting on the cinema of East Asia.
- Confidently discuss the subject area and in particular any aspects of a East Asian Cinema which one finds important
- Discuss my motivation & enthusiasm for film and cinema in general and issues arising relating to the course theme.
