Coasting along Sussex views aspects of the geography and history of the county shoreline; shingle and saltmarsh, cliffs and sand dunes, but also ports, resorts and sleepy hollows. Working from west to east we study the geology that forms the coastline and how that coastline has changed over time. The coast is a workplace for many, historically as fishermen, boatbuilders and port workers, but it also is the location for world famous leisure resorts and has a large urban population that has little to do with the sea. We look at a variety of aspects, old and new, to understand better the Sussex coast.
