Dividing Men of Kent from Kentish Men, The River Medway is probably Kent’s most celebrated river, flowing, as it does, through the heart of the Garden of England. This talk follows the river from its source and reveals a rich cultural heritage along its course.

- Develop appreciation of the different landscapes of the Medway valley - Develop knowledge of major Kent industries associated with the Medway - Develop appreciation of the architecture to be found along the Medway

- Locate the source of the River Medway.
- Name three key industries associated with the River Medway.
- Be able to describe the meaning of “Medway Navigation”.
- Explain how the River Medway was important to the development of Chatham Naval Dockyard.
- Describe the association of the Sackville family with East Grinstead area and locate the Sackville Chapel.
