The South East of England has some iconic landscapes from the Seven Sisters chalk cliffs to the sandy heaths of the Surrey Hills, but other less well known areas, the North Kent marshes or Essex plotlands.We look at coast and cities, farmland and suburb to better understand this complex series of landscapes.
Course aim
This course outlines the key features of the landscapes in SE England both physical and social and how those landscapes evolved over time.

By the end of the course I should be able to:
- Identify the main landscape areas of the SE
- Identify the geological background to those areas
- Be aware of the social landscapes of SE England
- Be aware of change over time in landscapes
- Be aware of the 21st century issues around use, misuse and under-use of landscape
