Yoga and Relaxation for Health and Wellbeing

Ref: C3680984

Welcome to Yoga and Relaxation for health and well- being. This four week online course will focus on a gentle, slow and relaxed approach to movement. You will be encouraged to focus on your breathing and to link your breath and movement to encourage a calm flow in your practice. We will explore a balanced range of poses including floor based and standing practices. All practices will be adapted to meet the needs of each individual. Each session will end with a guided, deep relaxation.

Course aim

The purpose of this course is to teach yoga as a holistic practice that supports both physical and mental well-being, ensuring that students explore a balanced range of movements and move care for their own body.

Do I need any particular skills or experience?

  • This course is for beginners and improvers

By the end of the course I should be able to:

  • Improve your ability to relax through your yoga practice by being attentive to your own body and by integrating breath and movement, also by paying attention to your breathing as you hold a pose.

How will I be taught?

What kind of feedback can I expect?

What else do I need to know?

You will need a yoga mat or something comfortable to lie on. You may use cushions/pillows for extra support. You may want to sit in a chair for some seated practices if you are uncomfortable on the floor. We may use a chair or wall space for support in some poses.
