Ours is the first generation to properly understand the damage we have been doing to our planet, and probably the last generation with the chance to do something about it. Economics dominates our behaviour, but today’s economy is damaging nature’s life-giving systems – in this taster for the full course we will look at how to turn this around. There are many positive things that can be done, including redesigning cities and whole economies so that they contribute to nature’s life-giving properties, rather than destroying them. By changing our emphasis away from an economy which needs to grow at any cost, to one that makes us thrive whether it grows or not, we will live more in harmony with our environment, of which we are an integral part.
