In this "hands-on" course we will take a journey through Italian culture while cooking food from the home cooking tradition. While acquiring some of the basics of Italian cuisine, you will also learn about Italy. Every lesson you will discover a particular area, learning about its history, its places and learning how to cook a new Italian dish following step by step instruction from our expert Italian tutor. You will gain the skills, knowledge and confidence to cook Italian food, but the course will also provide you with the inspiration to develop your own ideas and to transfer these skills to other exciting recipes.
Course aim
Learn about the Italian culture while cooking real Italian food with an experienced and native tutor.
Do I need any particular skills or experience?
- This course is for beginners
- A basic knowledge and confidence with the essential kitchen tools is required.
By the end of the course I should be able to:
- cook at least 5 traditional Italian dishes, ranging from "antipasti" (starters) to "dolci" (dessert).
- organise an authentic Italian dinner experience, from the starter to the dessert, to impress my friends and family
- talk about regional food
- talk about some Italian areas and regions
