I will work with you to improve your confidence in your ability to develop artistic skills and creativity. You will learn the skills by watching and following step by step demonstrations. With one to one help and guidance you will make unique projects, learning how to use a multitude of skills and resources. During the two sessions we will recycle jars or other items using napkin decoupage, painting techniques using glass paints and acrylics, to make candle holders and table decorations. We will explore and discuss crafts of your choice to meet your individual needs and expectations to continue learning on the course planned in January. This is a fun course for everyone from the complete beginner to those wanting to improve their skills, no prior knowledge is needed just a desire to learn and develop your skills and creativity, gain confidence meet new friends have fun and make something wonderful.

Course aim

To provide a safe welcoming and supportive environment in which students can learn and develop their craft skills building up confidence to develop their own artistic skills and creativity.

Do I need any particular skills or experience?

  • This course is for beginners and improvers

By the end of the course I should be able to:

  • Plan a design looking at the pictures on the napkins and the shape and size of your vessel, decide and mark out any apertures. Paint the jar using acrylic paint with a sponge dabber to create a smooth finish.
  • Apply the cut out pictures using upva glue, smoothing out the wrinkles and bubbles to create the decoupage. Decorate with embellishment's and glass paint in the apertures. Varnish the finished project.
