Discuss and explore a range of 3D art processes and methods in this friendly, hands-on course. We will work practically and experimentally with processes, materials and techniques, exploring different forms, possibilities and materials for art in 3-dimensions. You will have the opportunity to discuss and select practical projects collaboratively with your group, which may include clay modelling, wire forming, plaster carving, casting and constructing with metal and wood. We will also consider non-traditional materials including tape, fabrics and recyclables. We will discuss a range of creative practitioners using 3D processes in interesting and inspiring ways. You will be invited to implement your learning from group, technique-based projects to plan, test ideas and implement appropriate processes to complete an independent, 3D art object.
