This course will provide an introduction to starting your own business. It will enable students to develop their ideas and assess their skills, knowledge and qualities. The course includes business planning, marketing, branding, customer awareness and competitor analysis. Aspects of financial management will include book-keeping, cash flow forecasting and budgeting.

This course will provide an introduction to starting your own business. It will cover creating an idea, business planning, marketing and financial management.

  • Identify the skills, knowledge and qualities I possess
  • Communicate my business idea with confidence
  • Develop a business plan that outlines my vision, mission, services/products and finances
  • Develop a marketing plan
  • Create an action plan that outlines my next steps

- What you need: You will need an internet connection, speakers, a microphone, a webcam and a personal email address to join the WEA’s digital learning platform, Canvas so that you can receive resources, record your progress and achievement and to work with others and share ideas.

This course is funded by the West Yorkshire Combined Authority and only applicable postcode areas are permitted to enrol.
