Many children face fears and worries. For some children these fears and worries affect their daily lives. This course will cover some strategies to help you provide your child with tools to manage their anxiety and overcome fears.

Course aim

This course is aimed at parents/carers to help them recognise signs of stress and anxiety in their child and to provide strategies to support them.

Do I need any particular skills or experience?

  • This course is for beginners

By the end of the course I should be able to:

  • Describe some of the physical symptoms of stress and explain reasons for the body's reaction to stress
  • Discuss strategies for breaking the vicious cycles which keep fears and worries going
  • Experience and describe how mindfulness works
  • Focus on loving my child and seeing all their positives
  • Improve my digital skills and track my progress and achievement on Canvas the WEA virtual learning platform

You will need a personal email address to join the WEA’s digital learning platform, Canvas so that you can receive resources, record your progress and achievement, work with others and share ideas.
