This course provides an introduction to the key skills of communication, assertiveness, time and stress management. It also covers essential knowledge related to policies and procedures including equality, diversity, inclusion, health and safety and safeguarding. Learners will know how to find an apply for volunteering opportunities.

The course will cover the skills, knowledge and qualities required to be an effective volunteer. Learners will know how to identify and apply for volunteering opportunities.

By the end of the course I should be able to:
- Identify a range of volunteer opportunities both online and offline.
- Identify and develop communication skills including listening and use of social media.
- Describe the key policies and procedures relevant to volunteering and know how to apply them.
- Apply for volunteer posts and prepare to be interviewed.
- Identify how to set goals and take steps to progress these through action and personal development.
