We will use dance as a form of exercise to improve our physical and mental health and well-being. We will use ballroom and Latin American rhythms to form simple dance routines, seated or standing, designed to keep the body and mind active. All abilities catered for in this inclusive, fun and friendly group.
Course aim
Improve general health and well-being through movement to music using ballroom and Latin American rhythms.
Do I need any particular skills or experience?
- This course is for beginners and improvers
By the end of the course I should be able to:
- Recognise the need to warm-up before any form of exercise
- Perform a series of short routines designed to improve my physical well-being e.g coordination and mobility
- Perform a series of short routines designed to improve my mental well-being e.g memory self-esteem
- Recognise the need to cool-down and relax following any form of exercise
What else do I need to know?
No experience required. Please wear loose layered clothing and good supportive footwear. In order to keep hydrated please bring a drink.
