You will explore the types of zips available and the parts of a zips anatomy. You will follow step by step demonstrations to apply a lapped zip, concealed zip, open ended zip, fly front zip. You must have a basic knowledge of sewing. Each week you will be shown how to apply a zip and you will complete the task. There will be video tutorials available for you to watch after the sessions You will complete a folder of zips which you can use as a reference folder for future courses. You will NOT complete a finished sewn product. You will need to provide the zips and calico.
Course aim
This practical short course will explore the application of zips. Together with handouts, you will compile a reference file to refer back to when you are sewing. You must have basic sewing machine skills.
