To be shown different techniques and materials used to make rag rugs and other items. You will learn about latch hook rug making as well as, weaving, and plaiting rugs using different materials such as old duvets, t-shirt off cuts and wool. You will pick one technique and plan your own project too, using that technique.
Course aim
The purpose of the course is to show different techniques and materials that can be used to make rag rugs. We will also plan a small project to complete using one of the techniques learnt.

- This course is for beginners and improvers
By the end of the course I should be able to:
- Demonstrate at least one technique that can be used for rag rug making.
- Plan a piece of using one of the techniques learned.
- State which technique I like best and why.
- Evaluate how to improve my project if created again.
- Show my work to group for comments.
What else do I need to know?
Tutor will supply resources for tutor lead activities. You will be encouraged to bring in their own creative rug making projects and share their techniques too.
