Triple P (Positive Parenting Program) is an accredited, evidence based parenting program. This means: - there has been much research done to prove that it is effective in reducing problem behaviours in children, increase desirable behaviour in children and improve relationships between children and carers. - the course is recognised by the medical advisory body NIHCE ( National Institute of Health and Clinical Excellence)
Course aim
The programmes' main aims are to help parents to understand what shapes a child's behaviour, and to give parents the confidence and skills to manage their child's behaviour problems positively. Great parents do great parenting programmes.
Do I need any particular skills or experience?
- This course is for beginners and improvers
By the end of the course I should be able to:
- Understand the factors that influence and shape a child's behaviour.
- Understand how to use strategies to develop a healthy, nurturing relationship with your child, in order to improve the child's well-being and self-esteem.
- Understand how to put in place strategies to increase desirable behaviour in your child.
- Understand how to effectively use strategies to reduce undesirable behaviour in your child.
- Understand how to put in place a plan to make stressful parenting situations more stress-free (eg trips to shops, visiting friends, the dentist etc)
