This course will use a mix of meditation, relaxation and creativity to help overcome stress and difficult emotions. We will explore mindfulness and guided meditation, use different forms of creativity (such as journaling, drawing, painting and writing) to build confidence and explore how we can incorporate healthy habits into our day-to-day lives. If you're feeling stressed out by the time Friday comes around, this is the perfect course to learn how to wind down to the weekend to benefit your mind and body.
Course aim
To help students identify stressors and learn to overcome stress by slowing down, relaxing and using creativity to build healthy habits for mind, body and spirit.
Do I need any particular skills or experience?
- This course is for beginners and improvers
By the end of the course I should be able to:
- Identify what stress is and what causes it.
- Gain knowledge of strategies to cope with stress.
- Identify and build habits that support good physical and mental health.
- Use your preferred form of creativity to build confidence.
- Confidently share with the class what habits you will continue to use in your every day life.
What else do I need to know?
We will be doing some guided meditation and some simple seated stretching, so please wear clothes that are warm and comfy. You may also wish to have a notebook and pen for jotting down ideas and some blank paper for drawing.
