Have you ever wondered the origins of a word, or been moved by the lyrics of a song or the sentiment of a poem? Have you wished you had thought of a way to express how you were feeling or found the right words to get out of a tricky situations ? In part 1 of the course we offered a small insight into the true power of words in everyday life. Part 2 will build on this using different stimuli and starting points so will be suitable to both past students or new - an interest in the written and spoken word is all that is needed to hopefully enjoy and grow from this opportunity.
Course aim
This course continues to explore the power and beauty of both the spoken and written word. Through a range of activities ,presentations and discussions learners will develop their skills specifically to support wellbeing.

By the end of the course I should be able to:
- to develop a deeper insight in to the true power of the written word
- to develop the skills to identify the different ways the written word can be used
- to have opportunities to speak and listen in a range of situations with growing confidence
- to express thoughts and feeling through both spoken and written medium
