Have you ever wondered the origins of a word, or been moved by the lyrics of a song or the sentiment of a poem? Have you wished you had thought of a way to express how you were feeling or found the right words to get out of a tricky situations ? This course will offer the opportunity to a group of like-minded individuals to learn more about communication, words and creativity. Whether you are looking to enhance a cv, develop existing skills, or just to learn how to use words in a more poetic or precise manner , this course could be for you. We will be learning together and from each other, so the group will be small enough to make sure everyone has a voice and explores the many ways to use it.

Course aim

This course will explore the power and beauty of both the spoken and written word. Through a range of activities and discussions learners will experience the different ways words can be used and enjoyed for both personal development and wellbeing.

  • to explore the different ways the written word can be used
  • to have opportunities to speak and listen in a range of situations
