This session is designed to give you an overview of the jobs roles within the hospitality sector, by giving you examples of what a typical day working in this sector looks like. The session is delivered by a tutor who has real life experience of working in the hospitality sector, and during the session they will identify and explain what skills, experience (if any) and personal qualities are desired by employers with the sector. They will also identify the transferable skills that can be used to enter the job sector. You will also receive an overview of expected salaries, working hours and progression routes with the sector. There will be tips on where to search for vacancies within the sector, and also how to go about gaining voluntary experience in the sector. Overall, you will come away from this session with a deeper knowledge of the sector, which will you help decided if this sector is one you may wish to explore working within.
Course aim
The aim of this session is to give you an overview of the hospitality job sector, and the job roles within it, so you can begin to think about if this a job sector you feel you could work within.
