The Crusades and the Knights Templar

Ref: C3533462

The controversial medieval Crusades give a fascinating insight into the medieval mind and its attitude to the concept of 'holy war'. We'll particularly explore the first four crusades and the evolution of the Military Orders - the Knights of St John and the Knights Templar, who evolved from helping pilgrims into active participation in battle. Much mystery surrounds the evolution of the Templars and their spectacular demise; their reality is nearly as extraordinary as the numerous medieval and modern legends which surround their Order.
