On this course you will explore and develop insight into your personal creativity through being open and having fun with different ways of working, creating and thinking. You will be working through a process of exploration in your sketchbook and beyond, contextualising and experimenting with different techniques and mediums as well as being inspired by other artists. This course offers you the opportunity to unleash your creative and critical thinking: there is no wrong or right. ABOUT YOUR TUTOR: Stella is a committed and passionate artist, sculptor and teacher. As a practising artist for over 25 years, Stella has exhibited extensively, created art commissions and been an artist in residence. She strongly believes in using your individual voice to connect inwardly and to communicate with the outer world. As a teacher, Stella encourages experimentation of techniques, materials and ideas to support self-expression in a positive and nurturing environment.

Course aim

To develop your ability and insight into thinking creatively and critically through art. You will be encouraged to think outside the box allowing you access into your personal creativity and ways of thinking; all of which will open your mindset.

Do I need any particular skills or experience?

  • This course is for beginners and improvers

By the end of the course I should be able to:

  • develop my personal creativity by exploring different ways of working, creating and thinking.
  • experiment with different techniques and mediums in creating art work.
  • Use freeing exercises to develop creativity and critical thinking.
  • explore the art of others in various media such as music, visual art and written work.
  • create a sketchbook of my investigations.

What else do I need to know?

In the beginning of this course, you will only need basic drawing materials and a sketchbook. As the course progresses so will your ideas and the materials individual to you. There will be some basic materials available, but this will all be discussed with you in person as we progress.
