World Health Day - A Relaxation Session

Welcome to this World Health Day Relaxation session. This session aims to introduce you to the practice and benefits of relaxation, helping you to ease stress and tension. You will learn to deepen your breathing as a calming technique. You will also learn simple and gentle exercises that help to ease tension in the body and prepare your body for the practice of deep relaxation. You will follow a guided Yoga Nidra deep relaxation, learning to relax both mind and body. If you want to learn how to relax and nurture your own well being, please join me for a relaxing afternoon.

Course aim

This session aims to help participants to learn to relax, supporting their physical and mental well being.

Do I need any particular skills or experience?

  • This course is for beginners and improvers
  • You will need to be able to lie down comfortably as most of the session will be lying down with some seated practices.

By the end of the course I should be able to:

  • Develop awareness of your breathing and learn to deepen your breathing, helping you to feel calm.
  • Practice simple tense/release exercises, helping to ease tension in the body.

What else do I need to know?

You should wear comfortable clothing and have something comfortable to lie on - a yoga mat, or a thick rug. You should also have cushions or pillows for support and one or two blankets. Some gentle exercises will be seated, you can sit in a chair for these if this is more comfortable for you.
