This course will provide you with an introduction to safeguarding and its purpose. We will look at why, when and how we safeguard. The positive impact this can have on vulnerable people within our communities. Along with discussing our own responsibilities using the 5 R's to understand how to Recognise, Respond, Report, Record & Refer should you need too.

Course aim

Explore what is safeguarding is and it's purpose. Learn how you can help protect the vulnerable to live free from abuse, harm and neglect by using the 5 R's.

  • This course is for beginners and improvers

By the end of the course I should be able to:

  • Explain the purpose of the safeguarding legislation
  • Recognise a possible safeguarding situation
  • Respond to the incident appropriately
  • Report the incident accordingly
  • Record & Report to your designated officer
