Forgotten Women in History

Ref: C3533357

If you have ever wondered what all the women were doing when the men were conquering the world or inventing things, here's a chance to find out. Taking a thematic rather than a chronological approach you will learn about some of the forgotten women of history; the artists, the scientists, the visionaries, the sports women, the women who took on men at their own game and many more. We will also consider why these women have been forgotten and what should be done to redress the balance. This course is 4 hours in duration, 2 hours in the morning and 2 hours in the afternoon with a half hour lunch break at lunch time. There is a cafe in the building where snacks and hot drinks can be purchased at an additional cost.

Course aim

The aim of the course is to honour the women who deserve to be honoured by history but have been largely forgotten. The course will also allow opportunities to debate the need to redress the balance between the sexes in our history books.
