Exploring Calligraphy for Health and Wellbeing

During this class we will be examining the various beneficial aspects of calligraphy and how they can be easily incorporated into busy lives or add to the creative experience. Including meditative elements and breathing, simple techniques using easily available equipment, great for right and left handers and you are never too old to benefit from calligraphy. Working on-line with an experienced calligraphy tutor you can try your hand at relaxing calligraphy from the comfort of your own home as part of a group of beginners. This course is fully online accessing the course through Canvas our virtual learning environment and zoom a video conferencing software. You will need, reliable internet connection and internet-linked device with camera and microphone.

  • This course is for beginners and improvers

By the end of the course I should be able to:

  • learn how to complete simple calligraphic exercises
  • learn about the beneficial aspects of calligraphy

Paper, plain paper is best for this class, you will need at least 10 sheets of A4 Pencil (HB) and sharpener
