In this session we will get acquainted with Russia, the land and its people. We will analyse different maps of Russia, look at a variety of urban and rural landscapes in Russia, and discuss the history and ethnic origins of people living in Russia.

Course aim

Provide an introduction to Russian geography, landscapes and the people who live in Russia.

  • This course is for beginners and improvers

By the end of the course I should be able to:

  • Analysing maps of Russia
  • Identifying features of the Russian landscape and climate
  • Discussing how it may feel to live in different parts of Russia
  • Identifying the history and ethnic origins of the Russian population
