Beginners drawing & painting

A beginners’ art course aiming to teach basic skills of drawing and painting, and build creativity. We will use pencil, charcoal, pastels, watercolour and acrylic. Learn to make art work that you would be proud to have on your wall in a friendly supportive atmosphere.

Course aim

This course will enable learners to develop drawing, painting and mixed media skills and build creative thinking.

Do I need any particular skills or experience?

  • This course is for beginners and improvers

By the end of the course I should be able to:

  • Develop drawing skills with observational and imaginative tasks.
  • Develop painting skills including brushwork and colour mixing.
  • Experimenting with the use of mixed media.
  • Practice creative thinking.

Please bring your own equipment: an A3 cartridge pad, pastel paper, watercolour paper, pencils, charcoal, pastels, watercolours, acrylics and brushes. You may like to bring a drink or flask. Those who are considered clinically vulnerable must take advice before enrolling from Gov.uk.
