This course will help you build on your calligraphy knowledge with advanced techniques and working with a variety of materials; therefore is not suitable for complete beginners. We will be exploring the historical relevance of the style of lettering studied and examining the future role of it in contemporary calligraphy. There will be a project involving a short series of calligraphic works that will be part of a group project. Suitable for both right and left-handers. You will be expected to do work outside the class. You will be supported throughout this course by a tutor with more than 30 years’ experience

- This is an advanced course for students with experience and skills in this subject
By the end of the course I should be able to:
- Demonstrate the uses and suitability of a variety of materials for advanced calligraphy
- Demonstrate the specific techniques and mark making skills for advanced calligraphy
- Design and create a layout for a specific short series of calligraphic work
- Complete the finished piece of work from initial design through to completion
- Discuss the development of the finished piece of work
