Do you have fond childhood memories of Peter Rabbit or Jemima Puddleduck? Would you like to learn more about Beatrix Potter the person, her love of the countryside and her 'internal world' of imaginary animals? This course will examine her life, the times in which she lived and her extraordinary talent.

Course aim

To provide an overview of the life, times and works of Beatrix Potter.

Do I need any particular skills or experience?

  • This course is for beginners and improvers
  • This course will be conducted online via Zoom and you will need access to an internet connection.

By the end of the course I should be able to:

  • Know more about the time in which Beatrix Potter lived.
  • Have read and enjoyed many of her stories.
  • Have more of an insight into her personal life and loves: family, relationships and countryside.
  • Discuss her work and extraordinary talent with other learners.

How will I be taught?

What kind of feedback can I expect?

What else do I need to know?

If you have editions of 'The World of Peter Rabbit' that could be good for you but this is not compulsory as text and images will be shared online.
