Beyond Ideologies - Part 1 with Kevin Walker

Ref: C3532569

This course looks at some of the key ideas and beliefs that have influenced politics in the UK and asks how these could be changed to respond to the future. We will try to see if it’s possible to get beyond conflicting interests and strongly held beliefs to create a world we can inhabit together without mutual annihilation. The six sessions will focus on the key assumptions and values associated with Liberalism, Conservatism, Socialism, Nationalism, Fascism, Environmentalism and Feminism. Each session includes a brief presentation of these ideas and a lively discussion of them. This is supported by background materials on Canvas and the opportunity to continue research and discussions between sessions.
