This study skills course will provide you with the necessary study skills needed to do well in your Level 1 course such as: Time management and commitment to study. How to use Canvas to submit assignments. IT skills for writing assignments on Word General writing skills (punctuation, grammar, spelling) note taking research skills You will also be given information on the progression route specifically relating to Early Years Level 1 course, available to you after the successful completion of this course.
Course aim
The primary aim of the Study Skills course is to ensure that students have the skills, knowledge and commitment to submit work in a timely manner. Suceesful completion of this course will enable you to progress onto the Level 1 accredited course.
Do I need any particular skills or experience?

By the end of the course I should be able to:
- 1. Be able to use Zoom platform for online learning.
- 2. Be able to submit assignments, read tutor feedback and access learning materials on Canvas
- 3. Be able to plan for, edit and produce a final written piece of work
- 4. To understand how to take notes efficiently and carry out research for learning.
- 5. Be able to manage your time efficiently by meeting deadlines.
What else do I need to know?
A reliable device with access to the Internet is essential. You will need this for the Zoom teaching sessions and for submitting assignments and general learning on Canvas. A commitment to study.
