About 76% of urban residents in Thailand regularly visit street food vendors. The rise of the country's tourism industry has also contributed to the popularity of Thai street food. Thailand's has over 103,000 street food vendors offering an amazing variety of simple but delicious dishes like Pad Thai (Thai Style Fried noodles). Discover more about this popular component of modern day Thai life as Chef Kevin teaches you some of the best of the street food Thailand has to offer. There will be be a mix of live demonstration and some video clips, that you can play back in your own time when cooking, with plenty of time for questions and chat!

Course aim

To learn about the origins of Thai street food and how to cook some of the classic dishes in your own home.

Do I need any particular skills or experience?

  • This course is for beginners and improvers

By the end of the course I should be able to:

  • Describe at least 2 of the origins of Thai Street Food.
  • Explain what Pad Thai is and describe how to make it.
  • List the steps involved in making an authentic Thai marinade.
  • Describe how to make the most popular street food dish - moo ping.

It would be helpful for students to bring a pen and notepad. No need to have ingredients for these classes as it is not a cook along.
